2014 is the "Year of the Bible"
Bethesda Mennonite Church will be offering a variety of resources and opportunities to explore the Bible throughout this year. God's Word is the starting place for us as Christians. It is through the scriptures that we learn to know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit better so that we know how to live a life of faith that invites others to know the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We will begin a five-month journey together on one of our priorities: "Growing deeper in our relationship with Jesus, both personally and corporately." One of the strategies for this priority is to "Cultivate the 'Fruit of the Spirit' as a spiritual discipline." Thus we begin a sermon series based on the Fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. Please pray that through this season of study "your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God." Philippians 1:9-11 (NIV)

Galatians 5:22-26 (NIV)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."
